Learning at Crossroads Academy
As part of Whitfield County Schools, Crossroads Academy follows the same learning expectations as students in our traditional schools. We use the same pacing and curriculum guides so we are literally on the same page from school to school.
Our middle school program consists of exceptional teachers that provide direct instruction in the four core areas. Classes are very small and highly structured so that students get the individual instruction they need. Students have the opportunity to receive remediation and/or acceleration in different subjects during their connections period. We give our students every opportunity for success!
Our high school program is a blend of digital learning and support from certified content area teachers. Due to the breadth of high school course offerings, our students utilize Edgenuity to access a wide variety of classes. The content area teachers provide direct support to students who may struggle in particular areas. Our goal is to keep students engaged and moving forward in their studies at all times.
All Crossroads students receive training in the Boys Town Life Skills model. In these lessons, students are taught "soft skills" that will help them succeed at home, at school, and in the workplace. Teachers work with students in small groups and develop goals for short term and long term success. Our goal is for students to see their own potential for success.
In sum, learning at Crossroads takes place in academic and behavioral arenas. We want our students to succeed in all areas of life!
